ambassadors cup tournament wegmans annual angling test is slated to take place july 6 at lauderdale point resort on sparrow lake just north of orillia while the event is staged to sim ulate one of the numerous tourna ments that take place each year in the province students arent graded on their success in the oneday event what wegman wants to see is that each student has fun and has the opportunity to apply what theyve learned in his course during future angling expeditions beginning on tuesday wegman will run this years successful bass fishing course which will continue for every tuesday during the month from 7 to 10 pm during inclass sessions stu dents will learn about bass habits and habitat lures and how to employ them tournament proven techniques like flippin pitchin crankin and wormin a day in the boat with such notable angling professionals as rick clunn kevin van dam denny brauer mark davis and a host of others wegman is also a veteran tour nament angler having fished com petitively since 1986 outdoors mike ha although the basics are covered and some experienced bass anglers may find they already know much of the curriculum many of these same anglers realize that learning even one or two things may help them win their next tournament some also enrol in the course just to get a taste of what a compet itive fishing event is all about with this in mind the classroom sessions are often a good mix of knowledge able anglers and novices alike look ing to improve their angling skills space is limited to the first 25 who enrol and wegman is quick to note the course not only caters to the male segment but women are equally invited with open arms cost is approximately 100 per student and includes all classroom instruction and entry into your first
