ago now old enough to be members the four will be honoured when the silver jubilee club of stouffville celebrates its 25th anniversary on saturday gladys clarkson marion murphy aurelia smith and marjorie smith founded the club for their parents and other seniors in the area even though they themselves were too young to join they were all mem bers of the ladies auxiliary of stouffvilles royal when stouffvilles first seniors club opened itsdoors on june 1 1977 it was named to commemorate the silver jubilee of queen elizabeth ii since only 200 members could be accepted that first year many people had to settle for putting their name on a growing waiting list the club has maintained its mem bership base of about 150 in recent years the silver jubilee seniors club currently has five life members those 90 and over over the years the seniors meeting place has offered everything from art classes to bus trips card games to tai chi and crafts its members have come home with medals in a
