with a fourthplace record of 965 jens kraemer was satisfied with the effort given by the markham soccer club mens team wanted umojyvnxjejets select coaches assistants 20022003 season send applicationresume by june 12th to unionville minor hockey association po box 64510 unionville ontario l3r om9 as kraemer approaches his third season in directing the fortunes of the markham team which begins tomorrow when they face olympic flame at mount joy field at 845 pm hes optimistic his charges can improve on last seasons effort with the nucleus of last years club return ing to the fold combined with a few reinforce ments kraemer sees no reason why his club cant once again remain a contender the squads that i coached the last two years were good recalled kraemer but i think were a better team this year with all of our key players back from last years team and a few new faces all ofwhom bring a lot ofexperience were a deeper squad this year among the new faces are a pair of defenders in michael mccatty who started last year with markham before mcurring a yearending knee injury in the clubs secondtolast exhibi tion game and anthony whitney who played for mississauga last year in the canadian professional soccer league pat sullivan a former cpsl and canadian soccer league performer and steve gill a former provincial team member are solid utility performers kraemer noted sakis rizos another former cpsl player is one of three netminders vying for the starting position along with three- year veteran glen faulknor and john moerman other veterans include strikers neill mair and bart ostaszewski nick shelton and dwayne higgins both mem bers of the university of west virginia soccer team return to play the striker or wide midfielder positions team captain alan fogetti will anchor the midfield posi tion which includes tom cudzillo andrew woolridge and csezlaw zajac dariusz ostaszewski joins mccatty sullivan and whitney on the backline through practices and exhibition matches kraemer likes the team chemistry if the guys bring their best game we can be competitive sure you need a bit of luck with injuries and cards but if we stay healthy i think we can be there at the end
