cracked by what may have been a smallcalibre bullet or pellet the 54yearold was dri ving northbound on hwy 400 approaching the over pass at hwy 407 when an object struck the passenger side windshield just before 5 am thursday just the startling effect that would have on the driver while operating a vehicle like that or any vehicle for that matter could cause damage injury or death said sgt john sheldon the object did not pene trate the windshield making it difficult for police to say definitively what it was sheldon said but in a similar incident at the same location last sum mer a pellet was recovered inside a truck were all too familiar of the damage that can be done in these incidents sheldon said on wednesday a 14-year- old ajax boy was charged with mischief after two cars were hit by rocks thrown from a hwy 401 overpass both drivers took the next exit circled around and cor nered a group of youths on the bridge they managed to hold one boy for police last year toronto teen michael vytlingham 19 was severely injured when a rock struck the vehicle he was rid ing in as he traveled with his father in north carolina he was left a paraplegic and brain damaged he also lost his
