tribune has learned jeff flewehling york regions waste management engineer con firmed yesterday that a staff report scheduled to be made public mon day calls on the region to go out and identify spots other than a woodbine and st john sideroad location which was recently target ed to house the waste depot a york regional committee andor york council has a number of options the staff recommenda tion available at the anglican parish of christ church at 254 sunset blvd today saturday from 10 am to 1 pm meanwhile beginning at 11 am reverent robert shields will offi ciate at a onehour memorial ser vice honouring the princess of wales the tribune is making arrangements to forward this book and other messages of condo lences to the royal family a second condolence book has been set up by the town the book will be at the whitchurch-stouf- fville public library on saturday and sunday on monday morning it will be taken to the municipal office where it will be available for two days on tuesday evening the book will be taken to the local council meeting at the stouffville missionary church where it will be signed by mayor wayne emmer- son members of council and mem bers of the public yet step closer to being enhanced last week skateboarders met with mayor wayne emmersonand set the wheels in motion to secure more skateboarding facilities for the towns young people money for skateboarding could come from the mayors youth fund said emmerson on wednesday skateboarders met with the recreation advisory committee where a skateboard committee was set up and an agen da was struck reported committee chairperson cheryl johnson plans include a skateboard com petition to be held in october the town together with the young people will look into buy ing more skateboarding equip ment including half pipes and ramps as well the committee will look at finding an appropriate site for skateboarding last year the town build a half- pipe ramp for skate boarding while the pipe located at memor ial park is well used young people have set up another spot at the stouffville recreation complex food hank needs with the thanksgiving food drive just around the corner the stouffville food bank is hoping to get a head start on stocking its shelves the tribune reported this week that the local bank was very short on supplies to make it easier for people wanting to make
