the united states will be donated to the tim horton childrens foundation local celebrities and dignitaries will be participating at many locations by pouring coffee and greeting customers throughout the day some stores will hold additional fundraising activities and events last year our annual camp day event raised more than 13 million dollars for the childrens foundation allowing us to send more part in sevec program york region will be joining in a cel ebration of language culture and cooperation as local students play host to quebec students from the chicoutimi region as part of sevec s summer group exchange program from june 30 to july 25 organized by the society for educa tional visits and exchanges in canada sevec a national notforprofit association whose history spans 60 years the exchange program offers youth from 3 1 ontario and quebec school boards the opportunity to prac tice their second language skills while experiencing a different culture activities include a whale watching cruise crazy olympics bbqs day at the beach parties a visit to quebec city and a sportswater park while in quebec back in ontario there will be trips to paramount canadas wonder land the ontario science centre nia gara falls the cn tower a blue jays game laserquest and centre island as well as a farewell karaoke party sevec receives grants from the department of canadian heritage and the ontario ministry of education and training to subsidize the intercity transportation costs fundraising activities are planned throughout the month of june giving students an opportunity to meet
