weekend visitors to the uxbridge celebration of the arts will have the opportunity to bid on a fine original oil painting by sandford artist william r ternpleton the work depicts an area of seton park in toronto which is located just behind the science centre a silent auction for the painting will be held at the week end art exhibition with all proceeds going to the cel ebration the reserve bid is 100 and bidding will go up in increments of 25 when ternpleton built a commercial studio for his company in thorncliffe park he was struck by the natural beauty of the surrounding area which includes seton park an avid supporter of the cele bration since he moved to the community in 1990 ternpleton contacted organizers and offered to donate the painting to help raise funds hes a classic painter in oils arid a member of the arts and letters club in toronto said exhibition nizer jan buchanan who teaches art at uxbridge secondary school ternpleton who developed three different advertising companies during his career began to paint in earnest when he retired i go off in the van mostly on weekends and ive painted all over ontario and even out to bc and back in august he was invited to exhibit his paintings up north at the lake of bays and was delighted with the enthusiastic reception he received he works almost exclusively in oils and his donated painting evokes the beauty and
