the acting superintendent at bruces mill and he is busy plan ning for this years harvest festival which will be held sept 16 and 17 at the con servation area on stouf- fville road this will be our fourth year and well be bringing in a collection of antique equipment including steam engines tractors farm implements and outboard motors as well as vintage automobiles and motorcy- j cles other attractions will include a farmers market a bake sale organized by members of the stouffville united church apple cider pressing arts and crafts a petting zoo free pony rides horse drawn wagon rides and free hot air balloon rides well have a continuous stage show from 11 to 4 which will include square dancing doggers and coun- try and western bands upon admission you get a chance to win a champagne balloon flight for two through sun dance balloons noted doherty there will be a log sawing dis play and rope making and kids can get involved and keep their sou venir pieces of rope an entire area will be set aside for children where they can partic ipate in oldfashioned games and races and the mill will be fully operational during the festival a childrens arts and crafts centre will also be set up and all supplies will be free with admission to the festival its an excellent family day last year- we had over 3700 people and were just getting bigger and better every year doherty said admission prices are slightly higher for the 1995 festival but they cover free events such as pony and wagon rides and hot air bal loon rides the cost for the event is 5 for adults 350
