term sex ual orientation because words and phrases used in existing legislation are often drawn upon when developing new legislation the inclusion of sexual orientation in bill c41 could provide a precedent for subsequent leg islative reform involving more complex and controversial gay rights issues for these reasons we would urge you to press for the removal of sexual orientation from bill c41
