expected to attract a large crowd will be held in the ballantrae community centre on tuesday ward 2 councillor ed lyons got full council sup port when he presented a motion calling for the public review of the plan to have a communal water system for ballantrae and musselman lake its expected that staff from the town of whitchurch-stouf- fville the region of york and project consultants will all be on hand to answer questions lyons said i would recommend that other members of council attend this meeting to become better informed about the water project he added also lyons has notified merlin dewing municipalitys chief administrative officer that he wants staff to look into debentur- ing the whole water project including the cost of frontage to the residents lyons wants staff to look into a connection system from the municipal property to residents homes or the resident could be left with the option to pay for the connection from municipal property to the connection within his own home said lyons in his appeal lyons said he wants the water tower built close to the well claiming it would be more cost effective people who do not belong to the local improvement area of the water project should pay or contribute their fair share to the water project in which case helping to reduce the cost to all res idents said lyons in other words no one gets a free ride he added in early november area residents learned that if whitchurch- stouffville council agreed to go along with the project york region would assume the well and tower costs for the mussel- man lake ballantrae
