a better year for whitchurch-stouf- fville residents mayor fran sainsbury has a simple jnessage for local taxpayers as she contem plates the political chalienge ahead the mayor knows taxpayers will be waiting to see how officials spend scarce public money in the year ahead sainsburys philoso phy for a better 1993 is more positive thinking we need to stop all this nega tive energy weve been expending in 1992 we all have to stop talk ing doom and gloom mayor sainsbury said she predicts many people are not as financially deprived as it seems but are saving their hard- earned cash for an team work ancheril predicts the worst of the tough economic times are behind us all canadians what we have gone through is not just a problem in whitchurch- stouffville its a canadian and global recession we must funda mentally and strongly believe that 1993 will be a better year we need a positive attitude and a positive spirit and with that we can change things and see the light at the end of the tunnel meanwhile ward 1 councillor ivanka bradley believes people need to shop in york region in order to make life better for all residents if we spent more money here it would help enhance our opportu nities to grow economically there is still a lot of hardship out there and we need to look past pur- selves and make decisions with our heads and our hearts we j need to be more
