facilities appear inadequate and incomplete and the province is partly to blame for the regions slow start said several dignitaries thursday at a waste management forum in king township more than 80 regional leaders gathered to hear how waste man agement companies operate across the border and around the world progressive conservative environment critic don cousens said the provincial government has a knack for snubbing many waste management options which prevents ontario from increasing its programs ontario is dealing with ignorance where the government opposes options without knowing what is done successfully else where cousens said stouffville resident dave probert said its disgusting how envi ronment minister kuth grier is turning her back on alterna tives probert said ontario cant the region where only limited materials can be recycled or composted the group heard from one new yorkbased company which annually recycles and diverts about 30000 tonnes of kitchen and yard waste in one totallyenclosed indoor facility the fullyauto mated operation which stretches across four acres of land takes in food leaves sawdust and corrugated cardboard to the tune of 105 tonnes a day
