my friends must like you because i often hear things like did you see what mulroney did today orhow about our prime minister or he says there isnt a recession they are good citizens right you must feel proud knowing that people are talking about whatever you do all across the country ive heard other things and i assume they are from bad citi zens because they say things like id like to take all the tories and i also think you impressed a lot of people in your handling of the meech lake thing earlier this editors mail year you really got a rise out of us all when you referred to meech lakes failure as a roll of the dice you sure know how to get peo ple going ha ha i dont believe ive ever seen uncle richard get so red in the face but i couldnt tell if he was laughing anyway i dont believe the end of meech lake really spells the end of canada you didnt really believe that either did you did you i thought not and this goods and services tax its good for the country isnt it its hard to believe all these economists who are saying its inflationary and isnt good for the country at this time i realize these are the very same people who are saying that canadas economy has tipped into recession they just say stuff like that so they can keep their expensive homes and cars right its pretty easy to see through their ruse dont you agree and one more thing how are things over there in oka you handled that one well too that sure was an impressive show of force for a while there that whole area looked like beirut but you can never have enough money or enough military hard ware right ill bet your good friend george bush would agree ha ha anyway im sorry i went on so long but i thought you might need a little shot in the arm maybe you should call an elec tion soon just to show all of them and never mind what those silly polls say environmental solutions dear editor i have been following with interest and concern the com ments and suggestions for han dling waste generating energy etc and have some viable suggestions i havent seen mentioned my experience as an engi neer in the design construc tion and supervision of envi ronmental heating cooling and energy conservation might offer a different approach to the problem first burning waste materi als when properly designed can be done by keeping the treatment of waste gases con trolled and utilizing the heat energy produced secondly the heat produced should not be in steam but in high temperature hot water operative at 350 degrees fahrenheit or more for this purpose this eliminates the costly need for water treatment plants and makes the distribution of heat by district heating mains straight forward since connec tions to houses at reduced tem peratures of 180200 degrees fahrenheit can be metred and charged the same as any other fuel such systems are in use in russia germany england and scotland and are successfully operating there many things i could elaborate on but suffice it to say that i have available text books data catalogues and design data for all such designs and would be pleased to discuss them with anyone who is interested in getting involved sincerely ab chamberlain
