birthday and pur communitys vitality and though the weather didnt cooperate to the extent we had all hoped the word is it was worth the effort we had clowns and fireworks all over the province and smiles and laughing children and a sense of community spirit that was alive arid well and getting stronger despite the recent setback cana dians have felt courtesy of certain federal politicians the weekend provided a welcome salve to soothe the burn meech lakes demise didnt seem so bad when you saw the maple leaf stuck proudly in the band of someones baseball cap or waving gaily in breeze as a child cycled by and the whole celebration brought people out together for a common cause the sense of community was clearly present you could feel it on the street as clearly as you could see it in
