the beginning of the third annual whitchurchstouffville triathlon the three legged endurance event will include a new teen division this year according to organizer peter arnott of the recreation office males and females from age 13 to 20 will be eligible and will join the existing classes including a 20 to 29 age category a 30 to 39 flight a 40 to 49 group and a 50- plus bracket there are to argued that their money can be put to better use than on an athletic facility and residents of stouffville seem to be divided on the issue of the community track proposed for stouffville district secondary school sdss those opposed claim that charitable organizations have a more desperate need of money and this may be true the community track is not at the forefront of disease control wont save lives or prevent destruction of the earth but there is no denying that such a facility has the potential for community pride and individual enjoyment many people in stouffville can really benefit from this track it wont save the world but it will allow students and adults alike to stay in better shape and thus avoid potential illnesses we at sdss along with the stouffville elementary schools held a pennies inthe pot fundraiser for the track last week april 23 to 27 a contest which pitted grade levels against each other to see who could contribute the most pennies with all proceeds going to the track other events on the way are a pie in the face contest at sdss with teachers as targetsand a grade 13 slave day in late may where students rent themselves out- to people of the townfor yard work garbage cleaning or anything you need for the more athletically inclined both a slopitch and celebrity golf tournament are planned before summers end for more information contact dave
