a2 tribune october 19 1988 editors mail reader objects to paid moms dear editor with respect to the paying of mothers who choose to remain at home i wish to submit a reply it surprises me that our town council who must surely deal with more pressng problems would bother to discuss such a ridiculous request in this day and age motherhood is a desire if a wife wishes a family thats her choice if she doesnt thats her decision also in most cases no one forces a family upon her so also in most cases is the decision to remain at home or follow a career to be a professional housewife one must make certain sacrifices the same holds for the professional career woman you cant have your cake and eat it too but the idea of paying mothers 1200 a year to care for their own children is utter foolishness taking the situation to another extreme why single out the mother for this chore why not pay the husband the same amount of money and let the wife go to work with such hairbrain ideas com
