editor the decision by our govern ment to not only permit abortion on demand but fund it with our ohip premiums makes me angry and frightened those of us who believe in the intrinsic value of human life and that its morally wrong to casual ly killthe innocent arc being forced to support that very crime when paying our ohip or else allow our families to suffer grave health and financial risks those who claim to be so con cerned about the womans health seem to have done very little re search on the physical and mental aftereffects of abortion if you stood outside an abortu- ary and watched eight girls go in statistics say one or two will never have a child afterwards the strong cervical muscle is forced open which can result in incompetent cervix the uterine wall is scarred so that subsequent embryo cannot implant the fallopion tubes can be blocked which leads to tubal pregnancies consequently as high as six of eight girls will suffer miscar riages premature deliveries labor and delivery complications proabortionists are quick to partially quote from the over- 1000 questionnairebased papers that find the immediate reac tion to having an abortion is relief the same questionnaires find abortion to be traumatic accom panied by distress anxiety and emotional numbness one doesnt hear much elaboration about these the psychological damage that can show up months even years later is in the form of guilt anxie ty depression sense of loss hos tility suicide and psychosis denial of the psychological complications of abortion by abortion advocates demonstrates a lack of concern for women and further exploitation of them one cannot offer assistance to something that does not exist therefore these emotionally hurting women continue on in their pain are women and unborn babies so insignificant as to be treated in this manner sincerely sharon middleton stouffville around town pancake supper christ anglican church 254 sunset blvd stouffville will host its annual
