out by the town of markham baumann who retired from competitive swim ming yesterday received an honorary trophy frank king cook macrae honored the markham masters swim club proved its a force to be reckoned with amongst the towns sports groups after two members dominated the silver dolphin awards john macrae and fred cook won the awards newly created by the town and given out at last weeks markham aquatic club awards cere mony at the markham theatre mayor carole bell handed out the trophies which are to honor members of any competitive aquatic organization who set provincial cana dian or international records cook 74 is the betterknown of the pair a longtime local resident and fomer real estate broker he started swimming competitively again in 1981 after initially quitting at the age of 25 since then cook has set ontario 50 100 200 and 400metre freestyle records in the 7074 age group and 6569 marks in the 50 and 100m frees- tyles in fact five years ago he held the 50 and 100m freestyle national records as well at the 1985 world masters games cook was fourth in the 50m freestyle and fifth in the 100m event macrae 40 is a fouryear masters member who earned some attention at the canadian shortcourse championships in etobicoke five months back there he smashed world and therefore cana dian ontario standards in the 4044 age groups 200m backstroke and individual medley com
