weekender october 1381 9 crime sto man sought in markham heist by constable gary mcbrien toronto and regional crime stoppers and the york regional police are seeking public assistance in an effort to apprehend the suspect of a robbery in markham thursday aug 6 of this year at 11 25 pm the owner of the main street esso service station locked the front door of his business and made his way to his vehicle he was carrying the night deposit from the days receipts after geting into his vehicle he started to back up at this time the suspect approached the drivers side of the victims auto and smashed in the window with a handgun after a brief struggle the suspect pressed the barrel of the gun against the victims neck and ordered him to move his car back to its original location after getting out of the car the victim turned over the night deposit to the suspect and he was then forced to remain in the washroom until the suspect left the person wanted is described as follows male white 25 to 35 years old 6 ft 220 lbs brown short hair moustache and he was wearing a tancolored nylon stocking over his face a blue balltype jacket and dark shoes the suspect vehicle is described as a darkcolored chevrolet monte carlo mid 70s it is believed that this suspect is also responsible for a robbery at the cc gas bar on hwy 7 brougham ontario this robbery occurred sept 2 1987 at 910 pm a reenactment of this crime will be shown on citytv this thursday on the 6 and 10 pm news other appeals for help in identifying this criminal will be made by crime stoppers on radio stations newspapers
