public school staff award at a grade 8 graduation ceremony june 23 making the presentation is retiring principal malcolm mac mcroberts the plaque is emblematic of both academic and athletic achieve the grade 8 graduates of whitchurchhighlands public school at a ceremony june 23 mr mcroberts himself a graduate after 33 years in the teaching profession was accorded a standing ovation by appreciative parents he retired at the conclusion of the june term principal mcroberts recalled coming to whitchurchhighlands when the present graduation class was enrolled in kindergar- ten he described his time spent here as nine wonderful years at high school choose your friends carefully mr mcroberts urged make them worthy of you the departing principal also had a message for the parents he i requested they maintain the same j caring and supportive attitudes shown during their sons and j daughters elementary years at i highlands keep in touch he said the same way youve kept in touch i with us too often parents tend to leave things to chance once j their children enter secondary school he said mr mcroberts praised mem bers of staff calling them a fan- j tastic group without good j
