this land visiting with songs and skits some of its sic favorite cities and streets well yes and no bright it is and certainly uptempo but we dont get a glimpse of this land its definitely that one the one south of the border and while the songs associ ated with new york and chica go conjure up bright lights and sophistication others dedi cated to nashville and kansas city give the show a distinctly rural flavor as for skits plural there was only one an amusing piece on hollywood movie cliches un less you count the jokes inter jected here and there but for all that bright city lights and lisa jennifer kulchyskis almost op eratic voice was most effective in the romantic ballads the performance we saw last friday night was virtually a dress rehearsal not open to the public with all that that entails the sound apparatus wasnt working so that willene fal coners piano and peter c ap- pleyards drums often overpo wered the singers kedy parti cularly would have benefited from a mike there were signs that the show was underrehearsed in the rather ragged exits and en trances difficult at best on that minute stage and in director- producer judy scotts perhaps overambitious choreograhy the cast also had problems with some of the lyrics espe cially in the puerto rican salute to america but their spi rited acting saved the number these technical flaws have apparently been cleaned up and by now the performances should be running smoothly if so bright city lights with its eclectic blend of noel co ward and walt disney all that jazz and rockytop tennessee makes a pleasant
