finally arrived at sdss with many a sigh of relief yes folks it is that time of year again when students and teachers enjoy a wellearned respite from the rigors of the regular school day and celebrate in style after all there is so much to be cele brated spring is already upon us which means sports like base ball football and floor hockey are soon to be incorporated into phys ed classes and there are only gasp 58 school days left in the 198687 year the band exchange is fast approaching and the spring prom is but six weeks away as exciting as these prospects are students were smiling for other reasons this week you see for most people march break is merely a time to escape from the pressures of work but for most students it is time to escape from the duldrums of the canadian cli mate students suffering from severe cases of cabin fever visited the march break specialist and after consulting with the bank of mom and dad were prescribed a holi day outside of canada as always florida or the promised land as it has been re spectfully referred to is big on lists of our student travellers lastminute organizations were underway as students prepared themselves for the 30hour drive while visions of flamingos palm trees and members of the oppo site sex danced through their heads but by far the most organized vacation this march break is a threeweek exchange with the town of carpentras france to be undertaken by 11 of stouffvilles best diplomats students from carpentras visited our fair town last year at this time and we are gormley news now returning the visit we be cause i am one of the diplomats as you can probably imagine we are a little excited as old friendships are soon to be re newed and frances capital paris and beautiful loire valley are highlighted on our itinerary and as excitement rose this week we received a pleasant sur prise the night school coffee fund under the supervision of wayne nugent donated 110 to our cause travellers patrick alles jane anderson doreen chee shaheen doctor patti goldman coriette hofstee pamela powell james snow craig thompson and our leader miss cunningham are grateful for the night schools generous support so
