dont usually practice that shot he explained it took a complete team effort by the spartans to win as they went into the game with two of their top players injured the juniors took to the court without one of their best offensive players jon hall and they lost the services of defensive anchor guy cowan who went out early with a bad leg however the rest of the team picked up the slack fletcher said he was especially pleased with the defensive play of tom letke- man and the shooting of steve the deceiver fronske fronske was our mvp he really hustled out there fletch er said ken fletcher said we cant really complain we made a run for it but we just lost too many close games top scorers for the juniors were dave smilie with 13 points and jon hall with 12 the good feelings cant be car ried over to the seniors theyve had a rough season featuring some astronomical blow outs the lost 6856 to huron heights a previously winless squad and were than annihilated 8716 by king city tuesday night the seniors lost allstar darren montgomery for the season in the huron heights game his hand was broken when he fell to the floor at centre court it was an unfortunate acci dent there was no intent to in jure senior coach dave connell said when he was down some body stepped on his hand at that point in the game mont gomery had already scored 33 points he was sorely missed tuesday afternoon as the seniors strug gled to get their score into double digits they did it midway through the third quarter and keep king city under 100 despite their poor record there is optimism for next season stouffville will be more experi enced and some of the talented juniors will be moving up to join the squad
