gregation of second markham baptist church and springvale baptist church extended over 60 years she served as a deaconess and with the ladies group rev bob flemming told of his great joy in visiting with mrs conner and spoke of a favorite verse in her bible entitled on the wings of prayer rev jack bart said mrs con ners courage and faith through the dark days of the great de pression enabled her to better understand and sympathize with those experiencing similar diffi culties in addition to her own family she gave of her time in the raising of young people from the chil drens aid he described should our children have to attend crowded schools why should our childrens education be jeopardized what can we do about this de plorable situation does anyone else out there wor ry about this too you can do something about it if sufficient numbers of us write our local mpp asking that something be done about the lack of schools and the overcrowding we can have the situation changed maybe even that our children will be able to walk to the local school that our children will be able to socialize out of school with school- mates that the local schools facilities are adequate for the en rolment it appears this is no longer the case in stouffville never mind the problems related to our chil dren being shipped around inside stouffville itself we will also have to cope with the overload from the markham community due to their lack of facilities we already have space allotted for two badly needed elementary schools in the northwest of stouff ville however no construction is in the works needless to sav its not top priority we need ti iose schools not more port ables and more students in our present schools larger schools can cause prob lems with staffing student morale and behavior and the loss of closeknit community spirit in the schools do you know that york region is now one of the worst areas in ontario and possibly even in north america with regard to around town
