playing the drums she dreams of many things she describes herself as just average but her friends will argue shes proficient in everything she plays the drums in the sdss band shes signed up with a scarborough mar ching band she plans to enroll in a course on selfdefence she participates in inter- mural sports she enjoys downhill skiing shes a cashier at byway and she helps out when needed at her fathers store lourie has returned to jamaica several times she has also visited the caribbean islands and florida some day shes hopes to holiday in europe lourie enjoys her association with sdss and her close circle of friends travelling to and from stouffville by bus presents no problems she says biologys her favorite subject lourie enjoys playing in the band shes loud in her praise of buses but hark what sound over yon der gymnasium breaks it is that of the basketball and yes folks it is that time of year again when tall students are solicited by ea ger coaches short students are reminded of just how short they are and cries of shes basket ball boys can be heard every where yes its basketball season once again and staff and students alike are enthusiastically sup porting the senior and junior boys teams and with good cause the senior squad despite drop ping their home opener to a powerful aurora team whose average height per player was a monstrous 63 shows promis ing potential under the capable and talented leadership of coach dave conncii centre darren montgomery and guard greg tarr the junior squad is also show ing outstanding potential losing their first match in what coach jim fletcher described as a heartbreaker 4039 to a talented aurora squad the juniors were not to be denied in their second game against brother andre catholic school soundly defeat ing them 533g lam very optimistic about our boys chances this year weve got the best junior team that sdss has seen in years and i will be very surprised if they dont finish within the regions top five said coach fletcher centre stars dave smiley and tom lctkcman echoed fletchers enthusiasm were awe some they boastingly agreed were gonna do some major scoring damage this season well hold you to that
