will partici pate in a celebration of culture and faith that was 200 years in the making the mennonite bicentennial festival which began last month will conclude with a threeday event at harbour- front the public is invited to see displays of crafts literature and art and music will fill the air as a variety of mennonite performing artists entertain story tellers will weave their tales every hour on the hour from a replica of a conestoga wagon and children can enjoy special activities geared to the younger set stella reesor of gormley is on the festival steering committee and has been working on the celebration since february 1985 about 160 local residents are on subcommittees because in traditional mennonite fashion volunteers will provide all the manpower local women have made pies and will organize the first course of saturdays supper and wideman mennonite church is responsible for the salad bar the ladies are anticipating ab out 1200 diners chicken barbecue and back bacon on a bun booths are also the responsibility of markham and stouffville mennonites mrs reesor explained that 2700 pounds of chicken has been ordered for the weekend one of the musical groups is the
