like to express my thanks to the true heroes of the 1986 claremont winter carnival the tireless workers are sheila mul- veney lynn winterstein glenna yoshida marion peddie andrea graham and karen marks with out the efforts of these women its safe to say the festival wouldnt have taken place our hats are off to all of you the claremont united church women will meet at the home of bernice ward on monday feb 10 at 8 pm rosemarie timms will be in charge of the meeting mrs timms reminds us of the pancake supper scheduled for the united church on tuesday feb 11 on march 5 the united church women will stage their annual snowflake coffee party from 10 to 1130 am there will be a cake decorating demonstration and admission will be 2 everyone is welcome for more information contact mrs timms at 6492431 congratulations are in order to the legion ladies auxiliary this j praise is high for goodwood clubs past weekend proved to be a huge success for the ladies in every thing they chose to participate in not only did they win honors for most humorous float at the car nival they walked away with first prize at saturdays zone 1 legion bowling tournament at bowman- ville members of the winning team are marge samarillo lil macgregor jean bradshaw connie stewart bev coppins aggie ferguson and rene rennie for the second year the ladies auxiliary held an open house at the legion hall in conjunction with the carnival members served refreshments to a stand ing room only crowd and should be thanked for a job well done my final words this week are a reminder of the community shower being
