stouffville the silver jubilee club is be ginning a new year with a new president sydney cooper was the choice of the membership at the annual meeting may 29 he succeeds nola porter president for 198485 other positions have been filled by bruce empringham vicepresident marjorie smith trea surer edith lewis secretary beatrice vvideman edith bacon buby holzschuh margaret wagg elmore barkey and elwood foskett directors george schlukbier director of the whitchurch- stouf f ville parks and recreation department was in attendance he explained the new system of sharing the building with home support services the club has use of the premises except for the office that is reserved for home support seven days a week f with the new arrangement home support will util ize the building on mondays from noonuntil 6 pm if necessary mr schlukbier explained that home support prob ably wouldnt need the building every monday however if a situation arises when home support is using the facility and the club requires space to con duct an activity the town will provide the silver jubilee club with accommodation at latcham hall or another suitable location he told his audience the town is planning to purch ase the property on behalf of the club and said the town will guarantee the building for the use of senior citizens members responded with warm applause the meeting continued with reports from various committees relating to the 1984 fiscal year membership has increased from 220 recorded in the last years minutes to 242 this year new mem bers are welcome upcoming events at the club include a bus trip to cullen gardens june 18 a concert by the town band in the park june 26 and a barbeque at parkview home june 27 m horse show ballantrae the 5th annual horse show sponsored by the ballantrae and district lions club will be held sunday june 16 at the ballantrae community centre events begin at 9 am trophies prizes and ribbons will be awarded in various classes this may be
