hawks tried to break through but jason melko and wes bar bour stopped them cold the most dangerous sky hawk was marked by guy biadi who played a tremendous defensive game guy never let him go more than three feet he was absolutely brilliant in defense explained rub bens meanwhile the midfiel ders slowly took over the game travis white con- tinuely pressed his oppo nent but the spokane goal keeper was one of the best the stouffville team had met and then travis was tripped in the goal area leading to a penalty kick by captain jason melko jason delivered a booming shot to lead the stouffville seniors were skunked 20 in soccer action in bradford last week a twoweek layoff be tween games did nothing to enhance an otherwise slug gish team the one bright spot was the return of kees spoorenburg and martin johannessen from the in jury list as in previous games where the seniors have been slightly undermanned the game was primarily played in either the stouffville end or at centre forcing the de fense to bare the blunt of the game gil francis had a tremendous game at left back while charles parker and jim currie also played a strong part in keeping bradford off the score sheet in the first half john klein playing in goal for the first time in two seasons showed some of his old style he made a num ber of good saves that would have otherwise found the mark in the second half the seniors generated several good scoring chances parti- cularly from mike grist and wolfgang bopp hank ben ders also posed a threat in the bradford goal mouth especially on the high cross balls midway through the second half bradford opened the scoring on a high shot to the corner they sea led the game with their second goal with just five minutes remaining diamond space given at special
