losing revenue because municipal tax payments arent enter ing the bank soon enough arent we losing a pile of interest ewen asked dur ing last thursdays finance and property committee meeting the councillor noted that hes had a couple of resi dents actually inquire why their cheques werent cashed sooner administrator ron kes ter explained that the township usually receives between 3000 and 4000 che ques on the final day of the payment deadline result ing in a logjam that takes staff two or three weeks to process staff are swamped with cheques at the last minute and the resulting delay is why the money isnt depo sited in the bank sooner he explained a lot of mail in a short period thats the problem mr kester said but i agree they should go in quicker its a problem the fownship faces to begin in early july clerk taylor said improvements to the hamlets stocm drainage system are scheduled over three phases with the first one including the area along regional road 21 west of the cnr retain the proud appearance established in the early 1800s what were trying to do is restore it back to its original condition explained st andrews pastor frank vanderzwan work began back in de cember
