especially when fashions change almost from season to season whats considered in now may be long gone and on the out list by christmas last week the tribune surveyed a number of sdss students to find out what theyre wearing this fall this week its the elementary stu dents turn of the students we talked to most agreed that casual wear is the most popular rugger pants track suits and polo shirts are all very big this year jeans as at the high school are not near as popular as they once were and the jeans that are being worn are dressy not faded and worn out according to 12yearold jason bloye a grade 8 student at orchard park ps most of the boys are wearing rugger pants these days jeans are not near as popular now that rugger pants are in he said adding that the styles for guys never really change too much its always been casual i think the girls are a little more dressy james hume a grade 8 at sum- mitview ps agreed noting that besides rugger pants the guys are wearing pretty much the same as they always have you see a lot of rugger pants and sports shirts but other than that its just the usual jeans and tshirts he said the girls are wearing everything from jeans provided theyre dres sy to miniskirts thirteenyearold kelly watling who is in grade 8 at orchard park ps noted that bright colors for both tops and pants are very popular with the girls i think the girls basically wear what they want to she said rugger pants and cords are both common you dont see too many skirts and dresses most of the students agreed that running shoes are still the most popular form of footwear espe cially with the guys the girls are also wearing peter getaway boots running shoes are worn right into the winter said shawn mor rison 13 a grade 7 student at sum- mitview ps we try to get away with them as long as possible while most of the styles begin in metro toronto the students feel that stouffvilles fashions are up- todate everything starts in the city but were not too far behind said jason bloye its surprising how quickly they fashions get here making the out or on the way out list were headbands faded jeans and cowboy or western wear
