surpassing christmas we eagerly await the chance to cele brate the resurrection of he whom we worship jesus christ it is a joyous day for ourselves and our families why my disappointment instead of joy our services of worship were disrupted this year by the scheduling of the amateur hockey league final playoff game on of all sundays easter it self my sadness was for the families whose day was dis rupted and who felt torn by this scheduling after putting up with sun day hockey for some time now i feel personally affronted with regardto the scheduling of playoffs on easter indifference i can take however deliberate scheduling goes beyond in difference the church in this community seems to be putting its efforts into build ing up family life while fac ing at the same time direct opposition from the very community its attempting to serve after such a weekend as this i wonder why i keep on trying j donltfeel vm asking too muchjust a little consid eration in the future for this very important day the day of easter please under- stand i amnot trying to undertake a personal attack my concern is with family life and with what we as the christian church can do to deal with the frag mentation of that life in this community the letter is supported by rev howard minaker chairman of the stouffville ministerial rev craig pitts and pastor dan statham stouffville pente costal church of planning board april 5 a rezomng application from frank hulshof rr 2 stouffville to permit a third dwelling on his 50acre farm was condemned by some members they ex pressed the fear that the additional lot and residence would lead to strip de velopment v this said councillor margot marshall is against everything weve been trying to do in plan ning however mayor eldred king voiced an opposite view he supported the re quest on the basis that the hulshof property repre sented a bonafide farming operation requiring more than one family to operate it he defended the practice of allowing additional sup portive homes on legitimate working farms it doesnt matter if ten houses are needed he said this is the only way agriculture can be pro tected councillors jim rae and wilf
