open house in the silver jubilee club stouff- ville the occasion was her 80th birthday with the exception of one son kenneth living in spain all members of her family mrs ross harper baker avenue was honored at an open house sunday on the occasion of her eightieth birthday were in attendance including donald of peterborough allan of mount albert mervin and arnold of stouff ville and one daughter arlene mrs ray holden also of stouffville there are is grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren mrs harper moved to town from the family farm on the 6th con cession of whitcurch- stouffville seventeen years ago oilpainting gives her great pleasure a skill she attained back in her teen years she has 25 completed pictures in her own home plus others around town i can paint and watch television at the same time she says she enjoys the afternoon soap operas she reads a lot does fancy work and maintains a beautiful flower garden shes a member of the ucw the womens institute the over 60 club and the silver jubilee club mrs harper looked exceptionally lovely sunday as she welcomed dozens of friends and neighbors to the gathering david tran attended fair around town stouffville david tran is a resident at parkview home in stouffville there hanging on the wall of his room is a framed plaque that reads for meritous service to agriculture the cer tificate is signed by hm
