markham six grand children two sisters and a brother interment was made in the stouffville cemetery memorial on tuesday july 22 carl david boyd helen avenue unionville and formerly of rr 1 stouffville died suddenly following a heart attack the loss is felt keenly by his wife and family the following epitaph to dad is composed and signed by his children it reads what a great man there was who graced the world for a season a man of integrity noble in spirit and act he embodied the ethic of work and ennobled the word with his strength of committment and directed energy no job undertaken was left undone his en thusiasm was unquenched by temporary upset or frustration of honorable endeavor in all business dealings he taught us to do likewise as a farmer he listened to natures voice in all seasons and- in so doing acquired knowledge of lifes elements he drew upon this knowledge and experience in discussions with both university professor and child providing insight for their lives he was a generous and warmhearted man whose greatest delight was in giving a man of balanced nature harmonious and sociable he knew it not wrong to hold friends and family dear and acted always in accordance with this knowledge with humor and wit he benefitted friends and children of friends they can well bespeak of the tricks he played the jokes he told and the laughter that blessed their daily lives he acknowledged selfesteem and encouraged it for all men but prevented pride from ruling his heart he reared two sons and two daughters all of whom continue to respect authority and discipline with high regard for the precepts learned from cradle to shoulder- height conversation they honor the values he encouraged always humble in the ever presence of god he taught humility in the midst of hardship his faith remained steadfast and by his example we are encouraged to say we miss him is not enough for he was the tiller of our soil the leader of the harvest and the breaker of
