president of richmond college at milliken rapped the public education system un mercifully in thirty minutes of oratory he was the guest speaker at an inter denominational service organized by the stouffville ministerial as part of the communitys canada week cele brations planned for the local park the wor ship had to be moved into the arena due to in clement weather that plagued many of the events while many listeners nodded their heads in agreement just as many were noticeably distur bed particularly teachers in the public school system one lady took the pastor to task at the worships conclusion claiming that in his criticism he had painted all public educators with the same brush when the debate ap peared to reach an im passe dr campbell commented i think you should measure the thickness of your skin the renaissance leader accused the public school system of being hostile i to biblical christianity he tem pered this remark somewhat by saying you are fortunate here dr campbell said stated firmly its the teachers they select to teach it that bothers me instead of being servants of parents they want to police themselves he said likening the practice to turning monkeys loose in a peanut fac tory the bureaucratic educational institution is unresponsive to the wishes of the people he said claiming children are made wards of the state from six to sixteen in place for his outpourings if the members of the stouffville ministerial feel they require a drawing card to attract crowds i hope that in future they can find someone who will preach us the gospel of
