the stouffvule amateur hockey league team ef selects and a visiting team from london on tario the previously unscheduled game is being organized collec tively by- the amateur hockey league and minor hockey association the fund raising is on behalf of the stouffvule omha midget team who will be travelling to sweden this winter to visit hanninge saturdays visitors are no strangers to stouffvule- they are the london allstars who have already done battle on two previous occasions with our own ahl selects the tally to date is one game apiece in their first game at ioodon the selects lost by a very narrow margin when the london boys came from behind to win 65 in the last minute of the game- stouffvule had no trouble winning the return game- on home ice they dumped the high flying allstars 106 to tie toe series saturday night will be the clincher both teams are reported up for the game however with the advantage of home ice and hopefully a large and partisan crowd the selects are capable of winning it is rumoured that the visiting team has a more powerful line up than in previous games as they now have twelve teams from which to choose their allstars players the london team has become quite famous for its charitable per formances and recently played a large benefit game for the cystic fibrosis fund in london lineup for stouff villes ahl select team on saturday evening the first period was pretty evenly drawn with the honours going to stouffvule when darrin hardy knocked away the puck from a meaford forward which was picked lip by doug mcquigge who in turn did some fancy decking to put it behind the meaford netminder however the lead was short lived as meaford made it 11 before the end of the period despite being shorthanded the stouff- ville squad managed to dump the puck up the other end where doug mcquigge pounced on it and slid a perfect pass to ken burrows burrows made it 21 to give the as their second win stouffvule went through their paces on sunday morning and were obviously getting into their stride when they dumped thornton 8v 0 ken burrows headed the scoring witrf3 goals arid 2 assists con sequently he picked up a most valuable player award at the end of the tournament other goals came from brent brown craig vaughn paul mcewen and two well earned goals by bill hutchinson erins rugged play made them favourites against the stouffville team
