popular the silver jubilee club wished that name to apply and i readily agreed the club paid for our initial requirements but for about a year i covered expenses out of my own pocket on feb 7 i received a phone call from the clubs president asking me to appear before a special meeting i attended to find out the reason and was handed a very crude letter it was asking me to leave the band and was signed by all the members how could they do this to me i want the people of stouffville to know i am very hurt i never thought that the club and the band would do such a thing the reason given was lack of cooperation this is wrong i have cooperated in every possible way the kitchen band has provided a great deal of en joyment to many people throughout the area in fact it is known over a wide section of the province it has put stouffville on the map i asked only that i be per mitted to carry on until the bookings i made are fulfilled the club granted me this much on may 7 i will bow out i know when im not wanted and no longer appreciated thanks stouffville oscar bell ps my dismissal came on the eve of my birthday- some present
