grant lee kennedy gary martin philip wesholowski and aaron zamoloni placed 13th at the final chris pratt james shadforth and stewart todd placed 14th fire safety week was pictured most effectively by i nicole koogje and david gribble their safety posters won the uxbridge fire department contest for the grades three and four and five and six divisions 1 uxbridge you may think were just a rowdy bunch of nonconformists but the past five years here have been rich and rewarding for all of us jim tindall an ontario scholar this year spoke on behalf of his graduating class at uxbridge high school nov 3 its a difficult task to speak for my classmates who have known each other for sevea years now because the evaluations of our lives are constantly changing but i think i can safely say we will all remember uxbridge high in our own special way jims memories will include being a member of the trackand field team vicepresident of the band in which he played bass clarinet trinity cup nominee lifetime honorary member and winner of a subject award in biology the teachers would agree that all learning wasnt done in the classroom he mused and there were times when they may have had doubts as to our methods of study but i think they are justly proud of us tonight we were fortunate to have a hardworking student body and council to represent us and thanks to modernthinking teachers who gave the en couragement needed we learned that true success is won on our own initiative commencement is an ending for us butits only the centre adopts child goodwood the community play centre has a new member and he doesnh even live in canada 4 hes eleven year old babu raja maharian of nepal and hes been adopted by the goodwood group through the foster parents plan of canada the monthly contribution of 19 helps not only babu but members of his family as well the money provides free medical and dental care free prescriptions guidance and 1 v counselling from social workers and the benefits of many
