wedding anniversary the milestone was marked with a gathering at their home attended by members of their family and close friends mrs farrier the former gladys davis was born at glasgow in uxbridge twp the daughter of jesse and elizabeth davis she attended the old glasgow school and was a classmate of the late arthur latcham at age 17 she worked for thet eaton company in toronto her salary was ten dollars a week out of which she paid three dollars a week for room and board mr farrier is native of goodwood the son of gordon and mary farrier his parents were closely acquainted with gladys mother and dad herb and gladys were married at a methodist church par sonage in toronto sept 4 1919 they travelled by train to the canadian national exhibition following retirement from farming in 1962 they moved to stouffville however from 1964 to 1972 mr farrier worked as a greenskeeper at sleepy hollow golf and country club he holds a 50year membership in the orange lodge and both attend at the stouffville baptist church mr and mrs farrier are proud of their family that includes one daughter fern mrs ken rusnell of queensvilleand one son grant main r street stouffville there are six grandchildren and four great i grandchildren mrs farrier has a brother walter davis living on park drive stouffville mr farrier has a sister mary mrs frank wild in milton herb and gladys were the recipients of a treasured telegram from queen elizabeth and a beautiful plaque from ontario premier wm davis to share serviees by marion sandle vic square i the steeple at the victoria square church
