residents mrs smith the former elva patteoden- passed away peacefully in her sleep april 14 at york county hospital where shed been- a patient more thantwo- months born at vandorf one of five in the family of alfred and delia pat- tenden she moved to the 3rd concession of whit church twp following her marriage and farmed there with her husband first on the east side of the road and for the past 30 years at their present place the church played an important part in her life at ml pisgah united she was the organist for the congregation she also taught in the sunday school and directed a- junior choir- when this country church dosed she and her husband became involved in the- work at wesley- united she enjoyed her association with the gormley womens in- stitute where she held the office of president she was immediate past- president of the district wl elva smith possessed fine musical ability talent she willingly shared with others she was the piano ac companied for the
