disease will cause the death of 85000 people in canada february is heart month the chairperson of the ontario heart foundations stouffville chapter lovanna san ders is asking the community to support this campaign the heart fund is our number one defense fund against heart disease she says most of us will be affected with some type of heart trouble last year the stouffville chapter raised over 3100 mrs sanders feels the organization can do better her goal this year is 4000 the campaign will include stouffville ballantrae bllomington and baker hill nationally the organization collected almost 10000000 last year about 18 per cent was used to support education and com munity programs while 70 per cent went to finance heart research canadian scientists have played an important role in pioneering pacemakers artery transplants human heart valve replacements and coronary care units during february 115 canvassers will be knocking on doors asking for contributions mrs sanders said more canvassers are needed for the east end of the village north of main street red roses the heart foundations symbol will be sold at drug stores and in doctors offices on feb 10 and 17 only brownies guides and canvassers will sell roses for research door to door mrs sanders in her third year as chair person has also planned a poster display and prepared information stands to be located at the
