beau meau jeau as he was known to the lady cats of the neigh borhood and beyond is survived by his maiden sister gena and by a harem of wives ancl hordes of kittens in many places his passing is deeply mourned by the marshall family and by his many neigh bors especially the children on obrien he was respected by neighbor dogs heinz card stouffer cave and ben patterson who always knew their place when majestic mojo asserted control over his undisputed territory he gave obrien avenue furry tortoise cats like little tilly ness who looks just like her father and lives on obrien still he was group christmas party in goodwood hall satur day several graduates concert is well attended mrs fred steckley ringwood an estimated ninety people enjoyed the sunday school supper and con cert saturday evening at the church mrs stewart vague accompanied by their daughter and soninlaw mr and mrs r crane travelled to minden on the weekend to visit her sister mrs m stiver mr and mrs william cockwell and daughters called on mr and mrs fred steckley saturday afternoon mr walt vague and mr m brownsberger visited with mrs herb yakeley in stouffville tuesday were present from past years the organization holds its regular gatherings every tuesday and thursday the community extends sympathy to the families of the late mrs staley and mrs kydd the dinner and dance hosted by the couples club dec 16 in good wood hall was well at tended bill moxley immediate past president was honored through the presentation of a pin each lady received a carnation the dinner was provided by the womens institute euchre winners dec 13 were ladies mary anderson grace thompson bea harrison gentlemen chuck lintner gord wilson and irwin kydd door prizes were won by verna fawns phyllis clarke and tom seeley the next euchre is wed dec 27 christmas eve services will be held at both the united and baptist churches worship times are 730 pm stouffville the board of the stouff ville family life centre held a luncheon meeting dec 12 at the home of jerry and anita waite sunset boulevard at the gathering members had an op portunity to acquaint some new people to services provided by the centre within the com munity present were rev jim byrnes of the stouffville baptist church town mayor eldred king stouffville dist secondary school principal mervin witherow and orchard park principal john hincks the board chairman rev ted creen thanked the stouffville lions club through representative jim richards for their generous financial support this assistance he said had enabled the centre to cover operating expenses and deal more effectively with coun selling and family education programs russell kerr was thanked for his work in preparing a new logo and brochure these will be available in january the brochure will explain the goals and services of the centre here appreciation was extended to stella coultice coleader of the childrenthe challenge course held in st james presbyterian church for her participation in the new book display to be set up in the library during the week of jan 5 a resident of the com munity and the centre donated books used in effective parenting courses to the library former mayor gordon ratcliff was made an honorary member of the board out of appreciation for his assistance in obtaining space in the credit union office free of charge mr ratcliff was evolved in the initial planning meetings of the stouff ville family life centre the board is spon soring a poster contest for high school students to honor the year of the child twentyfive dollars will be awarded the best tenry a 3part program is planned for jan 9 in st james presbyterian church 1 registration for effective parenting courses to begin the following week at the centre 2 counselling demonstrations by dr evelyn wolff and larry nissenbaum 3 discussion geared for the professionals in the region members of the board are chairman rev ted creen secretary anita walte treasurer margaret beeby rev jim carder dr don smith dr don petrle jacqui morrison diane kerr gordon ness sigmund kusatz and gordon ratcliff bell hosts dinner by jennie johnson glen major mr and mrs tom sauter attended a christmas dinner for bell canada employees saturday evening in latcham hall stouffville mr and mrs david jones of port perry visited with mr and mrs ossie gill saturday the many friends of mrs claude simmonds will be sorry to hear she is a patient in sunny brook hospital mrs george johnson visited with her grand mother mrs wm graham of port perry recently mr and mrs george picket mr edgar fiss mr and mrs elmer wilson miss hazel jones and mr and mrs edward jones were saturday luncheon guests at the home of mrs charles fiss kevin knight of high point visited with gary johnson sunday mrs jim jones and mr paul baster attended a luncheon at the home of mr and mrs murray potter of epsom following the morning church service mr and mrs ossie gill attended a pre- christmas dinner at glen echo inn monday evening i bells ring out their y symphony of joy we echo their glad message with wishes for a happy holiday season for j you and those you v hold dear v thanks
