cambridge were honored saturday afternoon at an open house in springvale baptist church the occasion was their 50th wedding anniversary jim thomas fifty golden years stouffville springvale baptist church was the scene of a joyous reunion saturday when friends and relatives many from a distance attended an opein house in honor of rev and mrs norman rowan the occasion was their golden wedding anniversary although now living in cambridge ont mr and mrs rowan still look on the stouffville area as home they served this community faithfully for many years norman rowan was only 15 when he arrived in ontario from northern ireland three years later he was saved baptized and joined jarvis street baptist church toronto there he met and married alice baxter daughter of major d c baxter and mrs a m baxter of england following their marriage they gave themselves to the lords work until retirement in 1972 pastorates served by rev rowan have in cluded vivian church 193354 second markham has spent all but six days of the past year at home with her husband roy and their 15yearold daughter michelle honeys condition cant be cured yet but its devastating effects are being controlled she now manages her own household with a little help from her family she can also devote time to her new role as first president of the ontario lupus association which as a specialized affiliate of the arthritis society provides lay counselling and moral support for lupus patients and their families for honey agar and thousands of other canadians arthritis research is paying off about one in every
