annual provincial meeting held in toronto last week murray was picked as district deputy for toronto district 3 he will be overseeing operations in 17 lodges in the toronto and surrounding area including the local stouffville richardson masonic lodge as murray explained his duties will be to visit each of the 17 lodges at least once a year to en sure the working of the lodge is in accordance to the grand lodge con stitution and bylaws although there were over 4000 delegates representing lodges across ontario murray noted that only those delegates in each district can vote for their district deputy murray who has lived all of his 48 years in stouffville has been associated with the lodge for 21 years like most everyone through the years he has moved up the lodge hierarchy from a master of the murray wagg stouffville lodge to education chairman of the district although the office of district deputy is just third down from the grand master of ontario murray said he has no aspirations for the grand mastership im extremely happy with this position the last stouffville district deputy was ar thur weldon in 1952 murray noted and he further commented that at his swearing in ceremony 23 of the past stouffville lodge masters were present the oldest one was shine davis who was lodge master in 1923 besides murray brother ken is also ac tively involved with the masonic lodge
