goudie and three grandsons mr hopkins is also mourned by his sister vera noble funeral services were held at the oneill home on monday june 5 at 130 pm with rev bish officiating pall bearers jerry group from west euesmere the book of remembrance con taining names in memoriam and con tributors and three new church flags were dedicated by rev gordon hunter the book will remain permanently on display on a stand built and installed by frank brown tribute was paid to the designers and builders murray brown and jon nigh the modern entrance blends beautifully with the ex terior of the century old church teen boys and girls from the congregation ushered at both services greetings were received from mrs a miller on behalf of browns corners uc donald deacon and stephen roman ross scrimger chairman of york pesbytery spoke briefly jennie carruthers the oldest living person affiliated with melville felt unable to attend edna myers was recognized as the oldest member and she and mrs edgar nigh poured tea later in the church parlours the sentiments of everyone were expressed in the prayer of the service father god we keep forgetting those who lived before us those who prayed in this church before we were born what our fathers have done for us we drink from wells we did not find eat food from farmland we did not develop enjoy freedoms we did not earn worship in churches we did not build this day make us grateful for our heritage- today we feel our oneness with those who have gone before us whose faith arid work have enriched our lives may our faith be as vital our worship as
