stouffville will be having softball this year however there wont be near as many teams involved as in previous years the final registration was a much greater success than the first one but it was still not enough to field a full complement of teams in last thursdays registration 180 boys and girls came out in stouff ville with 100 in pine orchard and vandorf combined and 80 in ballantrae many from stouff ville signed up for tball and the town is expected to field four teams they also will probably suit up a squirt boys and squirt girls team one peewee girls and two peewee boys however there will be no bantam house league teams as only two girls and four boys showed up for that division in stouffville stouffville usually has 13 teams in house league but this year they will come no where near that total things werent much better in ballantrae although the officials have yet to figure out what teams will or wont be playing in vandorf their registration will allow them to have only three teams instead of the usual six the same situation is in pine or chard vandorf did get a number of bantam girls but with no other area fielding a team the vandorf girls may be requiried to go into all star ball the all star teams will be decided later in the season molly m c maningwcll organizer of the house league was naturally disappointed at the turnout it was much better than the first so i guess a number of the kids realized we werent fooling when we said that last thursday was the final registration but it still wasnt good enough she commented that the softball organizers fully intend to stick to their committment of not letting in anyone else after the final registration she realized that softball wont be as large this year and that maybe when the kids find themselves bored this summer theyll make sure to register on time next season unionville ice carnival features world champions unionville the unionville figure skating club is a hive of frantic activity right
