children will once again be shown on television dianes program which brings children to experience life on her farm will be shown this saturday jan 28 on channel 3 barrie diane will be on faces and small places at 730 pm the program had been previously shown in the summer her setup has children from the borough of east york visiting the farm on the 6th concession north of bloomington sideroad for a day to discuss the value of the farmer ive been doing this for three years now and the kids love it they get a better understanding of where the food comes from and the chance to see the animals in a farm situation her program runs during may and june and handles about 30 kids a day she tried running it during the winter months but found that too disappointing due to the number of cancellations from the weather the children are also exposed to such standard school subjects as math history and art all through their farm ex periences diane herself was a city girl turned farmer and was approached by the head of the science department of the east2 york schools which led her into turning her farm into a classroom diane also has days for those with learning disabilities and special education classes and commented that these kids sometime seem to get the biggest kick out of the animals and the farm diane also com mented that she has been approached on numerous occasions by the metro separate school board asking her to include their children in the program she said she may have to push back her course to the first of april to accomodate them f food is our specialty at
