church the young couple jiave taken up residence at jtrl stouffville locust hill united church was the scene of the wedding of susan jane pike daughter of mr and mrs john pike of locust hill and richard clifford wannop son of mr and mrs gilbert wannop of markham dr douglas smith officiated at the ceremony on july 10 and miss blanche ramer provided the music the soloist was robert ramer the bride given in marriage by her father wore a floor length gown of white satin with sweetheart neckline long full sleeves and a detachable chapel train her fingertip veil fell from a close fitting headdress set with pearls she carried a cascade of white gar denias roses and babys breath with a sprig of scottish heather the brides sister brenda pike was maid of honour and the bridesmaids were her sister nora pike and the grooms sisters cindy wannop- susanne wannop and christine wannop the attendants wore long flowered gowns of orchid crepe styled similar to the bride with short puff sleeves their hats were wide flop brimmed and they carried nosegays of yellow and white mums and daisies with babys breath kim baker was the best man and the ushers were john wannop brother of the groom -alan- barron murray smith and fred pike brother of the bride the reception was held at the markham veterans hall where the brides mother received the guests in a floor length gown of pale blue
