races held at vivian forest and as well came home with one individual winner gyl longley ran one of her best races to finish first in the senior girls race the senior team finished second to markham with linda frisky karen middleton kitty cashman leigh hamilton and maryjo sutherland all r well the junior team also ran an excellent race they defeated all other teams to finish first sandy ramer 3 cheryl stelling 5 sandy mcleod 7 and marg aitchinson 14 led this team to victory the other sdss winning team was the squad of grade 8 boys who competed against five other schools jim chilvers led the grade 8 boys by finishing second he was followed by andy redshaw 3 ray dart 5 and jan harris 6 ballantrae three members of hotat judo dub ballantrae competed in the north york open judv tour- nament in downsview on saturday oct 23 and returned bearing three first place trophies this win marked the fourth consecutive championship for steven sheffield in the past month the 13 year old brown belt also took first place at the hamilton yvopen on october 17 at the judo educational centre meet on october 3 and at the junior canam in windsor on october 2 karen sheffield wins added another first place f trophy to her collection at the north york open together with a winning j ribbon at the toronto- east regional tour- nament on sunday- oct 24 karens also took second place at the hamilton y
