thursday october 28 17c people upset claremont the operation of a noisy corn dryer at the claremont coop has posed quite a problem for pickering council lately residents living near the mill were most unhappy about- the 24 hour a day racket and called police to close the operation down on the grounds that the mill was breaking a town bylaw the bylaw states that all noisy machinery must be shut down between 8 pm and 6 am the farmers who were most anxious to get their feed corn dried before it could rot were understandably upset and appealed to the provincial minister of agriculture bill newman
